Trading went bad? Good luck on finding a Crypto Job

By Kaito Dan

· 2 min read

If the chapter above made you realised you are f*cked, I’m sorry but you are also welcome. You have now realised you want a job, you need a job, you crave a job, but all your CVs end up in some digital bin, or in the hands of some hackers in North Korea. Well done, you are a real crypto bro now.

If the four lines above made you laugh (or cry), you’ll soon realise how the Crypto Job market is a mess. A complete hell, we choose to think about and navigate every time our bags are down (often perhaps). What makes it living hell is:

Many don’t understand that you apply through a Crypto Job only thanks to your NETWORK. Imagine, that word, again, uh.

Yes, Network is the answer to everything, you build a solid one and opportunities will come to your way, literally. So, kaito you are about to tell me to build a network and land a job? That’s it? Really? Nope, or well, yes but I get it: you need a job now, and network takes time to be built.

So what do we do? A few small tips:

  • We apply the logic of the three theory, and ask ourselves who we can get in proximity with. In crypto, often companies have affiliates on X, easiest way to build influence and attention towards the people working at the company you want to apply for. A

  • Am I saying to dm them? Yes, exactly, not bold, not arrogant, not a submissive bozo, but rather as a calm, curious and honest human that wants to find the best way to propose for the job. This alone goes a long way, since in our industry you can reach out pretty much everyone you want to reach out, and not depend on emails.

  • Be careful on LinkedIn, your data is being shared by hackers and scammers, often listing fake jobs and getting your private information, which you can’t erase no more once in their hands. It’s something multiple people told me in the past years, and something I fell for too at the beginning of my journey in crypto.

  • ASK YOUR FRIENDS, this is the best advise imo, since I landed 7 out of 8 jobs in the past years through my friends (aka network, AGAIN EHEH). It obviously doesn’t have to be friends, but also people you met through irl events, through group chats, through communities (NFT communities are goated for this tbh). But don’t be scared of asking, since we are all here to make money and have fun along the way.
