Mistakes and lessons along the way

I think one of the things that has defined me the most during these years is my inability to give up. We’re in an environment that is always changing, that has highs and lows. I discovered crypto and had to go broke twice during a bear market. I had to spend months with nobody reading me. I even had different roles like collab manager or Discord moderator where you could practically say I was a slave in exchange for WL.
But if you stay long enough, if you always try to improve or see the positive side of all of this, it can change your life. Today, it’s changing mine. Even in a bear market again, I can make a living from something that has always been my passion: creating content.
And if you stay with this newsletter and give me and Carlitos a chance, you’ll also be able to find your opportunity in this market if you’re still looking for it.
We’ve been through a lot of shit, believe us. Now you’re not alone in this anymore.

If you chose to work in web3, expect very high volatility in your income. Periods where you will outperform doctors and bankers are rare, but they are ultimately what makes crypto beautiful. Periods of excess. Everything you buy goes up and everybody feels like a genius.
I have roundtripped seven figures in crypto. I have recovered from it for one simple reason: I have different wallets with different risk levels for different things and I don’t mix them. I have e.g. never touched my Bitcoin wallet, it’s in only. I have roundtripped all that money on nft’s and memes, so mostly on Solana and Eth.
This is a painful lesson that I guess only the market can teach everyone individually, no book or story of others will humble you like the market can. On top of that, I have always converted a part of the money I made in crypto, into Bitcoin. I learned from life to always have a war chest ready. If you look at big boys in TradFi, the Buffets, the Dalios and Griffins of this world, they all have liquid powder ready for moments when others need to sell at a bargain.
This is a very simple concept that you can take with you anywhere. Understand the risk you are exposed to, invest only with money you really can afford to lose and ultimately, let time compound in your favour and control your emotions.
There are plenty more mistakes and lessons I took away during my journey. Will tell you more about it in our following publications.

So, what can you expect from the next chapters?
This has been an introduction, we can call it Chapter 0. What comes next will be weekly analyses of how we see the market, the timeline, the opportunities, the projects, and the ecosystems worth keeping an eye on.
As well as continuing to share the lessons and experiences from the last few years we’ve spent onchain.
At the end of the day, we’re just 2 addicts to social media and markets.
Welcome to La Sobremesa.
Now you’re one of us.
